The content you write is very much like any other blog article or an email that you pen.\u00a0 Therefore, you need to follow the steps below.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Step 1.<\/strong> The all-important point sizes<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Headline<\/strong> 24 point<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Sub Headline<\/strong> \u00a022 point\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

First para<\/strong> 20 point\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Second para<\/strong> 18 point\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Third and subsequent paragraphs<\/strong>. \u00a0The Text is 16 point<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 2 – Therefore here is the layout of your Press Release<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Your Fantastic Headline Here<\/strong> (Please Use https:\/\/www.thehoth.com\/headline-generator\/<\/a> to help you write any headlines)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Sub Header.<\/strong>\u00a0 The bit that adds some oomph – describes the story a bit more.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Date:<\/strong> Which should read “For Immediate Release” <\/strong>or “Not to be released until DD MM YY”<\/em><\/strong> for the UK<\/strong> or<\/span> MM DD, YY<\/strong> for the USA<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>and Canada<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Your Contact name, phone number and email address<\/strong> and press officer details (if you have one)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 3 – First\/Opening Paragraph<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

The opening paragraph is mega important.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>It should cover the high level, of what the story is about.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

That is:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

– WHAT<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 the story is about<\/span><\/p>\r\n

– WHO<\/strong> are the people in the story<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

– WHY<\/strong><\/em> is it happening\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

– WHERE<\/strong><\/em> is it all happening\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

and the bit that is sometimes<\/strong>\u00a0missed<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

– WHEN<\/em><\/strong> did or is it going to happen – <\/span><\/p>\r\n

– HOW<\/strong><\/em> is it or how was it to be done.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The first paragraph<\/strong> is to grab the attention of the journalist<\/strong> to make him or her want to print your article.\u00a0 <\/span>Therefore, make it an active paragraph, one that excites and is positive.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

HINT: Read that first paragraph<\/strong> and ask yourself…\u00a0 “would I continue reading this?”<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 4 – Second paragraph<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

You need a quote. \u00a0That is something along the lines as shown below<\/span><\/p>\r\n

An example could be…<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Organizer Mr Doerly said \u201cThis will be the event of the decade\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 5 – Third paragraph<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Three bits of statistics, data or known facts<\/span><\/p>\r\n

One item could be a future statistic such as forecast ticket sales\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 6 – The Grand Finale<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Reminders,\u00a0 <\/span>re-enforce message with any action needed by the readers, such as an invitation to a meet.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This is where you put a reminder about the major issues\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 7 – Images<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

For any image that you include your article, you need to provide a short summary about the image and any attribution to a photographer or image taker. \u00a0Do make sure all copyright issues are covered and you have the permission of the subject(s) to use the image.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>In any email make sure everything is in the email, to be clear avoid attachments.\u00a0 It is a little known fact that\u00a0<\/span>JOURNALISTS and readers\u00a0are reluctant to\u00a0<\/span>click on links. That is proven by any email statistics you may look at in the future.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Step 8 – For an audio story, provide the same as above<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

The bottom line is that you need to give the presenter the questions he should ask you so that your audio with appropriate edits behaves as though it is a live interview.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
